Course Overview

During the course participants will learn and demonstrate to a level of competence on how to operate firefighting and fire protection equipment and how to deal with various fire situations onboard installations. Emphasis will be on working as a team under the control of a fire team leader.

Who Should Attend

This Product is for personnel who are appointed to, or to be appointed to, the role of an Offshore Emergency Response Team Member.

Course Outline

Delegates attending this training and assessment program will be given the series of explanation and demonstration which will identify what they are expected to know and do:

  • Entering and working in the fire incident area using best working practices and site specific procedures.
  • Locating and handling the casualties
  • Appropriate selection and use portable fire fighting equipment to extinguish fire.
  • Extinguishing a fire and/or securing the area.
  • Conducting breathing apparatus operations during incidents
  • Responding to a confined space incident
  • Responding to an incident involving working at heights
  • Maintaining communications.
