Course Overview

The course aims to give personnel concerned with scaffolding safety, the safety requirements for scaffolds generally and in particular, independent and special scaffolds used in the construction and maintenance of installations.

Who Should Attend

All scaffolders who have achieved Basic and Advance certification and completed prerequisite experience time.

Course Outline

This course is designed for refresher of the Basic and advance with some extensive practices.

  • Demonstrate the use of correct projection, using basic drawing techniques.
  • Apply Setting Out Principles:
    • Use and maintain tapes
    • Transfer levels using a spirit level, water level and quickset level
    • Apply linear measurement methods to set out simple structures
  • Erect scaffolds in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Apply the Principles of Erecting, alteration and dismantling to:
    • Dead shores and raking shores in tube
    • Power operated suspended scaffolds
  • Use, inspection and maintenance of safety equipment including Full Body Harness with Shock Absorber Lanyard by following manufacturer’ instructions
  • Inspect all types of scaffolds for faults
  • Falsework
    • Erect and dismantle falsework structures in tube and systems

Certification

TPTI Certificate. Validity period is 3 years.
