Course Overview

A five day training course for lifting equipment inspection personnel. Covers: the law; rules and regulations governing lifting equipment including LOLER; manufacture, verification, inspection and testing of rigging gear; acceptance criteria; standards and normative references; practical thorough examination and more.

Onshore and offshore personnel that are involved with the use, inspection, maintenance and repair of rigging equipment.

Course Outline

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Understand the definition of and to identify different types of rigging equipment and their components;
Understand the requirements of the applicable standards (EN, ISO, ASME etc.);
Be able to ascertain if the rigging equipment meets the requirements set out in the standard and those of the manufacturer;
To carry out inspections, maintenance and repairs in accordance with the standards;
Prepare reports in accordance with LOLER ‘98 and client requirements.
