Course Overview

This course aims to provide the basic theoretical knowledge and the necessary confidence and skills required to ensure an appropriate response to a fire emergency in a team environment.

All Fire Team Members or those who may be so assigned

Course Outline

Delegates attending this training and assessment program will be given the series of explanation and demonstration which will identify what they are expected to know and do:

 
  • Entering and working in the fire incident area using best working practices and site specific procedures.
  • Locating and handling the casualties
  • Appropriate selection and use portable fire fighting equipment to extinguish fire.
  • Extinguishing a fire and/or securing the area.
  • Conducting breathing apparatus operations during incidents
  • Responding to a confined space incident
  • Responding to an incident involving working at heights
  • Maintaining communications
