| The course aims to provide additional knowledge and skills necessary to enable participants to safely erect |
| scaffolding to an accepted standard. |

| All scaffolders who have achieved Basic 1 Certification and completed required work experience time. |

| This course is designed for refresher of the Basic-1 with some extensive practices. |
| • An outline of the requirements for scaffolding including personal and worksite safety, protection of others; |
| • Identification and use of the common forms of scaffolds with emphasis on British Standard tube/coupling |
| types, common fittings and accessories; |
| • Use, inspection and maintenance of safety equipment including harnesses, ropes, belts; |
| • Preparation, use, inspection and maintenance of scaffolding materials; |
| • Use, inspection and maintenance of ladders; |
| • Proper sequence and practice for the erection and dismantling of a tube & coupler scaffold to 2 lifts |
| (practical); |
| • Proper sequence and practice for the erection and dismantling of Tower scaffolds, Independent scaffolds, |
| Birdcage scaffolds (practical); |
| • Purpose, use, erection and dismantling of Mobile Towers |
