The course aims to provide an understanding of the hazards associated with Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and the

confidence to enable personnel to work safely in a potential H2S environment.

Acquire competence in the theory and practice of the following:

• Properties and Hazards of H2S

• Biological effects of H2S

• H2S Gas Monitoring Systems and Alarm Systems

• Contingency Plans - Muster / Safe Haven locations

• Basic Expired Air Resuscitation (EAR )/ Life Support

• Breathing Apparatus / escape breathers familiarization

• Portable Gas Monitors
