  The course aims to provide knowledge and skills needed to maintain a safe working environment while
  successfully relating and responding to others (both at work and elsewhere) in a socially responsible manner.

        • Compliance with emergency procedures
        • Precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment
        • Safe working practices
        • Importance of adhering to safe working practices at all times
        • Safety and protective devices available to protect against potential hazards aboard a ship
        • Precautions to be taken prior to entering enclosed spaces
        • Familiarization with international measures concerning accident prevention and occupational health
        • An understanding of orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties
        • Means to effective human relationships on board a ship
