Course Overview

A comprehensive two day course aimed specifically at rig crew members that perform periodic inspections after third party dropped object surveys. The course covers retention methods in depth; securing devices; classification of equipment; zones and areas of offshore installations and vessels; risk assessment and hazard identification. Practical exercises are included.

Offshore and onshore personnel who conduct periodic inspections for dropped objects in environments such as drilling installations, oil platforms, refineries, factories and other facilities.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

Follow up third party dropped object surveys conducting periodic inspections with competency and confidence;
Understand retention and securing devices and their uses, advantages and disadvantages;
Understand zones and areas on offshore installations;
Identify and assess at risk integral and non-integral equipment;
Compile inspection reports as required.
