Course Overview

During the course participants will gain a basic level of understanding and awareness of safety and emergency procedures associated with traveling by boat and safely transferring to or from an offshore installation.

Who Should Attend

This programme is designed for personnel travelling to an offshore oil and gas installation by crew boat

Course Outline

Delegates attending this training and assessment program will be given the series of explanation and demonstration which will identify what they are expected to know and do.

During the training programme, delegates will be required to demonstrate their skills and understanding of the following key areas.

Donning of an appropriate flotation device as used during boat transfers e.g. work-vest
A method of transfer between a simulated boat deck and a simulated fixed installation deck using swing rope transfers with luggage transfers.
Actions in preparation of a boat emergency
Actions in the event of an abandonment
Survival techniques following an abandonment
